Seoul, July 5 (World Korean News)= Kim Chae-soo, senior vice president of Hansang Federation in the Middle East & Africa, who served as president of the Botswana Korean Association, will lead the Hansang Federation in the Middle East & Africa after the late president Kim Geun-wook. Hangsang is a Korean word for Korean entrepreneurs.
Hansang Federation in the Middle East & Africa recently held a non-face-to-face executive meeting and decided that Kim Chae-soo will serve the remaining term as president of the Hansang Federation, which became vacant when president Kim Geun-wook died in an unexpected accident in May.
Kim Chae-soo will serve as president for the rest of the former's term. Hansang Federation in the Middle East & Africa will hold a general meeting in March next year and elect the next president. If Kim Chae-soo runs, he is likely to be elected as president at the general meeting next spring.
Chairman Kim Chae-soo recently visited Zimbabwe's Kim Geun-wook's grave. "I thought a lot about what the deceased (Chairman Kim Geun-wook) wanted to tell me," he said in a post in the group chat room. "I will find and practice what the deceased wanted to do for the development of Hansang Federation."
Kim Geun-wook, the late president, died on May 23 at the age of 68 after being shot by a robber at his home in Harare, Zimbabwe.
