I send greetings to all those observing Korean American Day.
America’s legacy as a Nation of immigrants is part of what makes our country strong, and our diversity helps define who we are and what we can become.
From business and science to sports, the arts, and public service, Korean Americans have enriched every sector of our national life.
In the 63 years since its founding, the Republic of Korea and the United States have enjoyed a strong and enduring alliance—one forged by shared sacrifice and bound by a common belief in the values of democracy and freedom. President Lee’s official visit to Washington in October underscored the strength of our partnership, and as we continue to work together to ensure the security and prosperity of all people, our bond remains unbreakable. As you celebrate the pivotal role Korean Americans have played in shaping the character of our country, I wish you all the best.
